Moscow will host the second examination competition of military conductors of military bands in the history of the modern Russian army. It will bring together 16 conductors from the Western, Southern, Central and Eastern military districts, as well as the Northern Fleet.
According to the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry, the tests for the competition will take place from October 18 to 24. Participants will have to pass three tests. The first mission is “ Instrumentation for military band, '' & # 39; which consists of writing by orchestrating, arranging or arranging a piece of music for the average brass band.
Next, the conductors will have to demonstrate their ability to manage a military band. Final test – “ Methodology for rehearsal work with a military orchestra '' – will take place on October 21 and 22.
The Central Military Band of the RF Ministry of Defense, the Military Institute Cadet Orchestra (Military Leaders) of the Military University and the Military Band of The Military University will be involved in the competition.
The synthesis of the results and the presentation of the winners will take place on October 22, and on the 24th a gala concert with the participation of the winners will take place at the Russian Army Theater.
Previously, such a competition was held only once in the Russian Federation – in 1991 and 1992.
