Russian President Vladimir Putin said the mega-grant program will be continued so that outstanding scientists can build strong international scientific teams and attract, including foreign specialists.
Speaking at a meeting of the State Council and the Council for Science and Education, Putin noted that such world-class laboratories should broaden the opportunities for spatial development.
They will, according to him, be created in universities, scientific centers of Siberia and the Far East, reports RIA Novosti.
The head of state also believes that the Year of Science and Technology should continue with a whole scientific decade, which will stimulate the future development of education.
The president asked regional authorities to help establish scientific volunteering centers, and also instructed to help develop scientific tourist routes popular for students and schoolchildren.
Earlier, during a meeting with the Council of Ministers Vladimir Putin called for the completion of all plans of national projects over the next three years.
