Trace of a novel coronavirus pandemic that has spread from China
The Chilean Institute of Health public authorized the use of the coronavirus vaccine from Chinese manufacturer Sinovac for children from the age of three, TASS betrays.
The measure is reported to extend the vaccination campaign to 600,000 other minors.
The institute also said that clinical trials of CoronaVac in Chile have shown that children, when vaccinated, produce more antibodies than adults and than adults. 39; there are fewer complications.
Previously European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended extending the use of Comirnaty, produced by the US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, to older children from 5 to 11 years old.
Previously, Pfizer and BioNTech reported 100% effectiveness of the drug for children 12 to 15 years old. The companies would share the research results with regulators in the United States and other countries to expand use of the vaccine.
