Defendant in Taganrog thallium poisoning case sentenced to 8 years in prison

The court sentenced the engineer of the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex (TANTK) Vladislav Shulga, charged with massive poisoning at thallium from company employees, at age eight in a general diet colony.

The Taganrog City Court has found Shulga guilty of three articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including willfully inflicting grievous bodily harm, TASS reports.

According to the investigation, in 2017, in revenge after a traffic conflict with several senior employees, Shulga poured thallium on highly toxic poisons, in a cooler with water & # 39; nbsp; to business. Thallium salts were found in the blood of 28 of the 37 employees who consulted doctors.

A thallium-containing chemical was found in a bottle taken from the factory and on a chemical scale taken from Shulga's apartment.

The engineer first admitted his guilt, then recanted. His mother claimed that her son confessed under pressure.

The Rostov regional prosecutor's office confirmed the indictment in the poisoning case mass thallium in May of last year. The prosecution required eight years in prison for Shulga in court.
