According to the National Geographic Institute, more than a hundred earthquakes have been recorded on Palma, the magnitude of which did not exceed 5.0. The volcano eruption started on the island on September 19, lava destroyed over 2,000 buildings. Authorities had to evacuate around 7,000 people, no one was injured.
Earlier, Canary Island chief Homer suggested dropping bombs on Palma in order to set the lava flows in the right direction.
