Putin appointed Vitaly Ignatenko as head of Russian public television

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Vitaly Ignatenko general manager of Russian public television ANO.

As reported on the Kremlin website, the decree comes into force on the day it is signed.

Vitaly Ignatenko was born on April 19, 1941 in Sochi. From 1991 to 2012, he was CEO of ITAR & ndash; TASS, and from 2012 to 2015 was a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation of the Krasnodar Territory.

In 2018 Ignatenko was awarded the title of Honored Journalist of Russia. In addition, he is Commander of the Order of the Merit of the Fatherland, winner of the Lenin Prize for the documentary film The Story of a Communist.
