A three-year project to connect socially meaningful objects — schools, fire departments, midwifery stations — Internet completed. Meanwhile, 75,000 points across the country have been granted access to the Network.
Urban equipment as part of the national digital economy project; were connected to broadband internet at a speed of 100 Mbps, for rural points a speed of 50 Mbps was provided. Across the country, 16 telecommunications operators have been selected to provide their services. All are now under three-year contracts.
“The provision of socially significant objects with the Internet significantly affects the achievement of the national objective “Digital Transformation”. In 2021, we have connected schools, FAPs (feldsher-obstetrics posts, — ed.), fire services and other important facilities for citizens. There are about 75,000 institutions in total. Thus, this order of the President has been carried out. Work to cover small towns, highways and hard-to-reach areas with the internet will continue. To implement these tasks, the government has approved the federal project „Internet Access“. By 2024, thanks to satellite constellations, there will be high-quality Internet in the Far East and the Arctic zone, », — says Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernychenko.
One of the institutions that gained internet access through this national project, — Zolotetskaya rural library, located 9 km from Belomorsk. In the library “AiF” they said that residents not only from the village of Zolotets, but also from neighboring villages come here. Many of them do not have internet at home. Therefore, for local residents, the library turned out to be a real “window to the Internet”: the connection appeared here in December last year. In the same place, in the library, an educational center, a center for a healthy lifestyle, a playground for sports activities, a women's club “La Mouette” were organized.
Another institution that received access to the Internet as part of the national project “Digital Economy”, — Rural house of the Voznesensky culture in the Berezovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Sound Manager Larisa Nepomnyashchayaexplained how this has changed the work of the Palace of Culture: “Now we can organize our cultural events with better quality. On the Internet, we look at various materials for the “Young Artist” circle, study the works of Russian artists with children, and make video presentations. For the vocal circle, we upload the repertoire of folk songs and sheet music, and for the choreography lessons, we use video dance lessons.”

Sometimes the construction of communication routes was carried out in difficult climatic conditions, in hard-to-reach settlements with difficult terrain. But we, as a telecommunications operator, understand the full importance of the project, and our next step will be to connect residents in remote corners of the region to the infrastructure created, where the high-speed Internet access has arrived.
