The St. Petersburg City Court has dismissed appeals against the extension of the arrest of blogger Yuri Khovansky, who is accused of justifying terrorism, reports RIA Novosti.
The joint press service of the municipal courts explained that the appeal body upheld the court's decision and the complaints were dismissed. The blogger will remain in prison until January 8. Khovansky, during the review of the appeal, said his guilt had not been proven and the statute of limitations in the case had expired. The blogger asked him to choose house arrest or some other milder measure of restraint.
Recall that Yuri Khovansky was arrested this summer. The blogger is charged under the article “Justification for Terrorism” because of the song he performed on the stream, which was dedicated to the North-Ost tragedy. The preventive measure has been extended several times.
Previously, it was reported that blogger Khovansky's lawyers complained to the ECHR about his arrest.
