Reliable. A group of autonomous strike robots tested in Russia

A demonstration sample of a group of robotic ground systems has been tested in Russia. The group involved five “ Marker '' robotic platforms & mdash; three on a wheeled frame and two on a tracked frame. The robots autonomously solved the tasks of dividing targets into a group and achieving optimal firing positions, independently responding to operational changes in the combat situation, and redistributing targets. The robots operated thanks to the equipment and technical vision installed on board.

Based on the results of the exercises, the developers came to the conclusion that using a group of percussion robots in automatic mode allows to achieve the emergence effect , that is, the appearance of properties in the system that are not inherent in its elements separately. .

In the future, it is planned to conduct joint tests of a group of robots and unmanned aerial vehicles, this will increase the quantitative and qualitative indicators of recognition.

Earlier, in September, aboard the Marker 20 launches of multi-rotor drones were successfully carried out and experiments were carried out to control vehicles using reconnaissance, control and communication systems. It has also been reported that the 'Marker' it is possible to install a module with drones, which allows the autonomous launch of a large group of unmanned aerial vehicles. Each of them can perform tasks both as part of a group and individually. In the future, the complex may be armed with kamikaze strike drones.

This May the 'Marker & # 39; & # 39; successfully passed a series of fire tests, during which they fired from a machine gun in automatic mode, as well as under the control of an operator. Additionally, the robotic platform has developed autonomous movements around the shooting range, target acquisition, and shooting at fixed and moving targets.

Currently the “ Marker & # 39; & # 39; can be controlled from a distance of two to five kilometers. But the developers want to teach the robot to perform tasks hundreds and thousands of miles away from a person. At the same time, the weapon installed on it must have selective defeat and high precision fire. It will only be able to destroy specified targets, reducing the danger to civilians.

Project of the Foundation for Advanced Research “ Marker & # 39; & # 39; started in March 2018. The platform is designed in a modular fashion. In the future, such a technical solution will quickly replace the payload, observation systems, but also modernize the robot. The platform integrates remote control installations, an autopilot, a computer complex, a vision system, etc. The composition of the equipment can be changed to perform certain studies.

The main task of the project is & mdash; large-scale testing of technologies and basic elements of advanced robotic systems on the ground. Marker must be able to work with small arms and destroy land and air targets.

“ Marker '' robotic platform & mdash; a joint project of the FPI and the research and production association Android Technology, which developed the product Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research (FEDOR), which flew to the International Space Station in August 2019. He is better known as Robot Fedor.

In October, it was reported that the 'Marker & # 39; & # 39; tested at the Vostochny Cosmodrome as a security robot. The devices are applicable to ensure the security of space ports, enterprises and other facilities of national importance.
