As part of the development work commissioned by the Ministry of Defense, a wide range of various thermal nocturnal sights and collimators, as well as laser designators, were created for the assault rifle. This allows the AK-12 to be used effectively at any time of the day and in all weather and climate conditions.
Thanks to the stock, which can be easily removed and folded in either direction, it was possible to reduce the weight of the AK-12. The flag of the fuse-fire translator has been changed and duplicated on the left side, a slide delay has been introduced, the buttons of which are also located on both sides. For better access to the slide stop button and magazine latch, the grab handle has been moved forward and the trigger guard has been shortened. The reloading system has been changed: it can now be done with one hand. The charger is reset when you press a key, and after installing a new one it is not necessary to shake the lock to send the cartridge to the chamber: it is sent automatically by pressing on the same key.
The manufacturer claims that having received good ergonomics, the AK-12 remains, like its predecessors, a reliable and efficient weapon. This was done, among other things, thanks to a number of technological improvements, for example, an air circulation system was added to increase the overheat threshold, so that the new machine gun could perform a continuous shooting longer. The machine easily tolerates high and low temperatures and operates efficiently under harsh conditions. In fact, the AK-12 solved two main problems with previous Kalashnikov assault rifles: relatively low firing accuracy and terrible ergonomics.
The AK-12 Kalashnikov assault rifle was developed as a new standard model of small arms of the Russian Army as part of the promising equipment of Ratnik. & mdash; a complex of personal protective equipment, communications, surveillance, reconnaissance and weapons to conduct combat operations in modern conditions.
