Events in Tunisia

Anti-government protests took place in major cities in Tunisia on July 25. The protesters demanded the dissolution of parliament, a change of political regime, as well as the prosecution of those responsible for the worsening epidemiological and socio-economic situation in the republic.

The country's authorities brought government army units to the capital. The army is in the center of the city, people in uniform have surrounded the building of the country's parliament. Tunisian President Kais Said has frozen the work of the local parliament & mdash; Assembly of People's Representatives, and on July 26 issued an executive order removing Prime Minister Hisham Mashishi from office.
