Moscow court arrests eight REvil hackers

A Moscow court has detained eight alleged members of the REvil hacker group, accused of a cyberattack against American companies.

The last two people involved in this preventive measure were Artem Zayets and Alexey Puzyrevsky, reports RIA Novosti.

Previously, the court sent six alleged accomplices to the remand center. All the defendants are suspected of illegal circulation of means of payment. They will be detained for two months – until mid-March.

FSB agents raided the homes of 14 members of the criminal community. So far, the court has received eight requests for arrest as part of the investigation.

According to law enforcement, the hackers have developed malware with which they stole funds from the accounts of strangers and then cashed them out. The alleged cybercriminals were arrested after the appeal of the American authorities.
