Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Vietnamese counterpart Phan Van Giang signed an intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation between the two countries, reports the press service of the ministry Russian Defense.
The meeting of military ministers took place on December 1 in Moscow. A bilateral intergovernmental agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation and an inter-ministerial memorandum on cooperation in the field of military history were signed.
The Russian minister said that Vietnam is one of the key states in the Asia-Pacific region, which has modern and well-equipped armed forces. It was pointed out that the country is hosting the competitions of the 2021 International Army Games. In the closed part of the meeting, the prospects for military cooperation were discussed.
