Two Russian Tu-160 strategic missile carriers carried out a scheduled seven-hour flight over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea and the Norwegian Sea, reports the Russian Ministry of defense.
The Missile carriers were accompanied by the crews of MiG-31 aircraft of the Northern Fleet of the Air Force and the Air Defense Association.
Previously, the crews of two Tu-160 missile carriers had performed flights with in-flight refueling. They flew from Chukotka to the Saratov region, covering more than 8,000 km. In mid-June, the Defense Ministry also reported that two Russian Aerospace Forces Tu-160 missile carriers carried out a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea.
