“Let's return peace to the Donbass.” Volunteers collect humanitarian aid for refugees

On February 22, centers for collecting humanitarian aid for refugees from the people's republics of Donetsk and Luhansk opened in Moscow on the basis of the Mosvolonter office. and eleven non-profit coworking centers. Those who want to help bring food and necessities: diapers, coloring books, cereal and clothes, and someone — and books with stationery.

All over Mosvolonter Headquarters; boxes with already sorted things are laid out. In the office — a dozen volunteers accepting help from caring citizens.

According to headquarters volunteer Polina OkunevaShe came here to help people. For her, this is the first action of this format, although before that the girl has repeatedly helped Mosvolonter. Assistants meet people, measure their temperature and check things and products that volunteers have brought. “We look at the expiration date and the condition of things so that they are new, in the packaging”, — said the girl. Used items are not accepted at the center.

Completely different people come. Muscovite NataliaI learned about collecting help in the morning on the radio and immediately brought food: “I collected all the canned goods I had, sweets , soap.” When asked why she decided to help, she says she represents the state of the people: “Especially those who stayed there. They are bombing there. Natalia has relatives living in Ukraine, but relations with them are not very good, she complains: “I am worried about Donbass, my ancestors are from Ukraine, but they behave badly: they don't communicate with me.”

Moscow State University of Humanities student Natalia  says they “decided not to remain indifferent in such a situation and to help people”. We learned about the existence of the collection on the Internet, we came as soon as possible.

Sergey from Moscow says he has been worried about Donbass since 2014, although there is no connection or relationship. “But these are people like us, and they didn't deserve the bombing and destruction of their home, — explains the man. — I would like to believe that the recognition of the republics by Russia will bring peace to the Donbass — and all those whom we have come to rescue will return to their homes. Sergey brought with him two bags of groceries.

You can bring food, clothing, dishes, personal hygiene products and basic necessities to the centers as a 39;humanitarian aid. For children, you can leave toys, books and stationery.

You can bring:

  • Bottled water (from 0.5 to 25 liters );
  • Dry food for babies (mixture);
  • Food products (tea, sugar, flour, cereals, preserves);
  • Disposable tableware, cleaning products; #39;personal hygiene (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes), toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, wet wipes, baby diapers);
  • Towels and bedding (duvets, pillows, sheets ), children's stationery (coloring books), books and toys.
