In the highlands of Sochi, a storm warning has been announced until January 30 – very heavy snowfalls are expected there, the press service of EMERCOM of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory reported.
Rainfall is expected in the foothills and mountains of the city from the afternoon of January 29, as well as January 30.
Rescuers have asked residents to be careful of overhead line cables, which can stick to the wet snow.
Before that, the mayor's office also issued a storm warning due to heavy precipitation in the coastal area of the resort.
Earlier in January in Sochi , a mudslide descended on the federal highway. In the Golovinka region, several trees and tons of earth collapsed on the roadway.
