Scientist assessed the danger of a new virus discovered in Russia

Virologist, senior researcher at Moscow State University Lomonosov Maxim Skulachev explained how dangerous the Manych virus detected in the Russian Federation is.

Rospotrebnadzor previously reported that in the Rostov region, in the analyzes of several patients, a new virus was found that can cause symptoms of fever. The infection is carried by ticks.

Skulachev, in an interview with Moscow 24, said that this is a very rare disease. According to him, the virus is unlikely to turn into a pandemic and start spreading from person to person. There is no biological basis for this.

“ This type of virus still cannot do this. And it's not clear why the hell he suddenly learns to do this & # 39; & # 39 ;, & ndash; Skulachev said.

He added that the symptoms can be treated effectively with standard fever treatment. Therefore, the probability of recovery in this case is high, the specialist is sure.

The scientist recalled that ticks in nature are carriers of encephalitis, Lyme disease and dozens of other diseases. He suggested that the identified virus existed before, it is so rare that it could only be found now.

However, it is of little concern that due to climate change or ecology the spread of these viruses there may be ticks or animals they parasitize on.

As a reminder, it was recently reported that in the southern state of Kerala in India an outbreak of the deadly Nipah virus has been detected.

New data on arctic animals. Rosneft eco-expedition is over

In early fall, the Rosneft research expedition, organized as part of a corporate program to conserve the biodiversity of arctic ecosystems, came to an end. Within a month, specialists from the Arctic Science Center of the company and the Institute for Ecology and Evolution by the name of A.N. The Russian Severtsov Academy of Sciences has monitored and studied the population of polar bears and the Atlantic walrus subspecies.

During the latest expedition, scientists surveyed 34 islands in the Franz Josef and Novaya Zemlya Archipelagos of Earth, as well as Victoria Island on the northwestern border of the Russian Arctic Territories. According to preliminary data, 7,145 animals have been recorded, double the counts from last year in the same territories. The largest walrus habitat in all of arctic exploration history was found on Eva-Liv Island, which is part of the Earth Archipelago Franz Josef. & nbsp;

Polar bear studies have been carried out at Cape Zhelaniya on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago. 4 animals were examined using the remote immobilization method, which does not pose a threat to their life and health. Two females wear satellite collars, which will allow scientists to follow the migratory routes of bears from a distance.

Members of the expedition carried out round-the-clock ship sightings of marine mammals and birds. At the transition between the islands of Franz Josef Land in the Graham Bell Island area, a large herd of belugas was recorded & ndash; about a thousand animals. And in the Hoffmann Island area, there is a flock of fork-tailed gulls, which are rarely seen in this area.

Research carried out taking into account global best practices will enable scientists to enrich and update data on the population of the species studied and to develop measures for their protection.

Caring for the environment & ndash; one of the key priorities of the Rosneft company. Over the past 10 years, he has implemented a comprehensive Arctic research program. During this time, more than 30 scientific expeditions have already been carried out to study ice conditions, weather conditions, geological structure of soils, as well as to study representatives of the animal world, which are bioindicators of the condition. environment.

Uma tent. A uniform with a neural network will signal the death of a soldier

The US Army Research Lab has announced a breakthrough in two neural network projects. The first is designed to create intelligent uniforms & mdash; these clothes will be able to assess the physical condition of the fighter and transmit data to the commander. The second will help commanders make decisions on the battlefield based on data obtained through artificial intelligence. AiF.ru understood what these networks would do and how they would help on the battlefield. & Nbsp;

Technology is becoming the backbone of modern warfare & mdash; they are no longer soldiers, but they determine the winner. The achievements of science in the field of big data, in particular neural networks, are also used in the armed forces. It is a combination of algorithms that work together to recognize patterns of data through a process similar to that of the human brain. Only these networks operate more accurately and faster. Certainly, they do need training, however, as a person. & Nbsp;

Artificial, but not perfect

The first project will provide commanders with a battlefield assessment tool. This is necessary, for example, in the event of a lack of data. Researchers affiliated with the Army Research Laboratory have created a framework that will use artificial intelligence to make wartime decisions. & Nbsp;

Artificial intelligence will advise and increase the confidence of commanders in making decisions, but the final decision is up to humans. The system will display the so-called “doubt” level. Basically, if he recommends doing something 100%, he's totally sure. If it's 70%, I'm less sure. After all, the car & mdash; isn't ideal either, especially if it doesn't have full situation data to calculate. So if the commander sees that the AI has doubts, then he will have to use the tool that has been proven over the years & mdash; intuition. & nbsp;

The developers note that several factors affect the quality of AI data assessment. Data can be manipulated, random “noise” could interfere with the operation of algorithms, or uncertainty could arise from a faulty sensor that has been attacked by an intruder. To quantify the uncertainty, the researchers categorized its sources into military networks, analyzed the foundations of the representation of the unknown, and created solutions to deal with it.

Artificial intelligence can help not only directly in combat, but also in complex military planning operations. To do this, the data from the sensors that will be placed on military equipment, on the uniforms of military personnel, in some places will be combined and integrated into a single neural network.

They are greeted by clothing

The second project involves using a neural network to assess the health of a soldier. For this, a programmable fiber developed in the military technology laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will be used, capable of storing and analyzing information. Smart the thread can be used to sew a uniform. & nbsp;

Digital fiber technology is in the testing phase. So far it is known for sure that it can store information. The researchers loaded the film onto tissue to show it could store massive amounts of bytes. In the future, researchers want the fiber to be able to store algorithms capable of analyzing the data collected.

The fiber has a neural network of 1,650 connections and successfully collects body surface temperature data within 270 minutes. Using artificial intelligence in the lab, Fiber determined the type of activity a soldier was performing with 96% accuracy. The researchers want the fiber to be able to generate and store energy for AI analysis or to communicate with sensors and communication systems. & Nbsp;

It is expected that the fabric will monitor the health of the soldier in real time. Fiber can detect, store, analyze and draw conclusions about its actions. The uniforms will be able to contact the central command or the base on the battlefield if the soldier does not respond in any way and even report his death. With the help of the system, you can “ from a distance '' know a person's pulse, the presence of breathing, and even injury. In addition, the uniform will be able to warn soldiers of dehydration, overheating and other processes dangerous to the body. This will make it possible to decide on the need for a rescue operation and, if possible, to give the soldier advice to preserve life and health. & Nbsp;

Why does the United States need a prescription for drugs, but we don't?

Weekly “Arguments and Facts” № 36. How to revive local aviation? 08/09/2021

Why at & nbsp; United States, almost all drugs are issued only on & nbsp; prescription, and & nbsp; can we buy almost everything for free?

Expert response 0 + –

& nbsp; To & nbsp; United States and & nbsp; most countries & nbsp; EU, in fact, it is almost impossible to buy prescription drugs in the & nbsp; non-prescription pharmacy (non-prescription drugs are also there, they are sold freely), & nbsp; & mdash; replied Chair of the Independent Interdisciplinary Committee for & nbsp; Ethical Review of Clinical Trials Elena Volskaya. & mdash; & nbsp; In our country, the rules are not observed so clearly, despite & nbsp; that & nbsp; that the relevant standards are prescribed in the legislation. Why is this happening? For example, due to problems with & nbsp; to get a prescription. In fact, a patient with a chronic illness has to see a doctor every month just for a prescription for drugs taken regularly. But & nbsp; in all honesty i have to say that & nbsp; we, like & nbsp; in & nbsp; West, adhere very strictly to the rules of dispensing potent drugs, narcotics and & nbsp; psychotropic drugs. They will not be sold without a prescription.

What type of Russian bunker killer missile will be exported?

An unknown country has decided to buy a large batch of the latest air-to-surface missiles from Russia. Kh-59MKM. Kh-59MKM missiles are designed to destroy enemy-protected underground command posts and are today considered one of the best in their class. For their ability to destroy concrete walls several meters long, it is called the 'bunker killer. & # 39; & # 39; Earlier, a Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter received a similar weapon.

When it was first shown

First 'surface export air class' missile The Kh-59MKM was presented at the MAKS-2021 forum. At the moment, the final tests of the rocket are underway, after which the first serial batch will go to a foreign customer, which is expected to happen before the end of 2021. According to experts, the rocket continues to grow gain popularity in the international market and might even be able to take a market share from its counterparts in the United States.

History of & nbsp;

X-59MKM & mdash; This is a modernized version of the Soviet Kh-59 Gadfly rocket developed by the Raduga State Machine-Building Design Bureau named after A.Ya. Bereznyak, which is part of the Tactical Missiles Corporation. Kh-59M missiles were used during hostilities in Chechnya to destroy militants' shelters and warehouses in the mountains. However, the climate of the North Caucasus has imposed serious restrictions on the use of precision weapons & mdash; fog and poor visibility led to failure of guidance in forested mountains and snow capped gorges. For example, during the whole of December 1994 in Chechnya there were only 2 days of clear weather, where it was possible to effectively use precision weapons. The use of the Kh-59 missiles was discontinued after four launches.

Maybe all these shortcomings of its predecessor in the new Kh-59MKM missile have been eliminated. In any case, in May 2018 a video of the launch of a rocket from a promising fifth-generation Russian fighter Su-57 was released. To house the missile in the hunter's internal weapons compartment, its body was modified, a bonus was the lower ammo radiation signature. Later, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on weapons testing in Syria.

Main targets

The missile is designed to engage highly protected stationary ground targets with known coordinates in advance, including command posts.

The missile finds the target using the SNAU-59MK-02 system automatic navigation control. In addition, the 59MKM is completed with a tandem penetrating warhead with a main load weighing 320 kilograms and a preload. The rocket is also equipped with inertial satellite guidance, with the help of which it finds its target even in the most complete darkness. The probable circular deviation is 10 meters.

Features :

The launch mass of the Kh-59MKM & mdash; 930 kilograms, length 5.7 meters, wingspan 1.3 meters. Flight altitude of 15 to 2000 meters. Flight speed 900-1050 km/h, flight altitude 15 m to 2 km. The maximum declared range & mdash; 285 km, the rocket can be launched at a carrier flight altitude of 200-11 km.

Passionate hope. Love and death of the beloved wife of Joseph Stalin

Tracing the history of the world with Andrey Sidorchik

Historical legends are dearer to ordinary people than the truth of life. Citizens find it more interesting to read history like a novel than to face the reality in which everything can be put on shelves.

Fiction is always more interesting than truth

Second wife Nadezhda Alliluyeva of Joseph Stalin during the years of perestroika was turned into the heroine of Shakespeare's tragedy or ancient Greek myth. The wife, who saw the tyrant in her husband, openly challenges him and then leaves this life, not wanting to be part of the system created by the person she once loved.

This image has migrated to Western cinema, where Alliluyeva appears almost as the first victim of Stalinist terror. & Nbsp;

The supporters of this version appeal to the revelations of the daughter of Nadejda and Joseph & nbsp; Svetlana Alliluyeva . But there is a serious but: when her mother died, Sveta was only six years old, so she had no clear memories of her parents' relationship, which she honestly has. admitted herself. & Nbsp;

NKVD leader Lavrenty Beria with Joseph Stalin's daughter Svetlana Alliluyeva. Stalin is in the background. Photo: RIA Novosti

Of course, his wife's death influenced Stalin a lot, but it had virtually nothing to do with him as a politician. It would be fairer to speak of a great personal tragedy.

Stalin's first marriage to Ekaterina Svanidze turned out to be short: his wife died, leaving her husband with a son, Yakov, who was only six months old. The boy was brought up by relatives of his wife & mdash; & nbsp; Joseph himself embarked on the revolutionary struggle headlong. & Nbsp;

Nadejda Alliluyeva. Photo: Public domain

I want a “wonderful Georgian”!

In September 1901 in Baku in the illegal newspaper “ Struggle '' the first article by young Joseph Dzhugashvili has been published. The same month, & nbsp; in the same place, in Baku, in the family of revolutionary worker Sergei Alliluyev , a daughter was born, who was called Nadia.

Family tradition says that at the age of two, almost drowned, falling into the sea. But there was a young and courageous nearby who threw himself water and saved it. The name of the savior was Joseph Dzhugashvili.

A few years later, the Alliluyevs moved to St. Petersburg. Nadya, like the rest of the children in the family, was involved from an early age in her parents' revolutionary activities. She was 16 when Stalin, returning from exile, appeared in their house. The girl fell in love with a 'wonderful Georgian. & # 39; & # 39;

Nadia had gypsy roots on her father's side and apparently she inherited a very hot temper from her ancestors. Sergei Alliluyev in the planned novel was not frightened by the 21-year age difference between his daughter and Stalin, but by Nadezhda's fervor.

But it was almost impossible to stop the girl if she wanted something. When the civil war started and Stalin went to the front, Nadia left with him. In 1919, at the height of the battles, they married. & Nbsp;

Passion and life

The witnesses unanimously admit that there was truly a passion between them, and Nadejda's emotions simply overflowed. At the same time, the spouses saw their family future somewhat differently.

Joseph, who survived the loss of his first wife, spent many years in exile and in illegal apartments, dreamed of family comfort. Nadya was ready to do anything for her beloved, but was not going to become a full housewife.

She worked at & nbsp; People's Commissariat for Nationalities Affairs, in Lenin's secretariat, collaborated in the & nbsp; writing of the magazine “ Revolution and & nbsp; culture '' and & nbsp; in the newspaper & nbsp; Pravda.

The conflicts of the early years of Nadezhda and Joseph's family life had nothing to do with politics. Rather, it was the age difference that affected. Tired of service, Stalin wanted peace at home, and the energetic Nadia often began to plunge him back into state-building issues.

Sometimes the quarrels were usually comic in nature. One day Joseph simply stopped talking to his wife. Nadya saw he was offended, but couldn't figure out what exactly. Then it turned out that she, out of habit, continued to call him 'you', and Stalin wanted her loved one to turn to him on “ you. & # 39; & # 39; & Nbsp;

Large family

In 1921, a son was born Vasily , then a little & nbsp; Artyom Sergeev, the son of a deceased revolutionary, was mistaken for & nbsp; education in a family. Then relatives brought Stalin's eldest son Yakov to his father in Moscow. The servants helped Nadezhda to cope with the housework, but those who knew her at the time write that she was a good housewife herself, despite all her emotivity.

Stalin loved having his own house and people who loved him. But how to behave in a family circle, he often did not understand. The rudeness and harshness developed over the years of revolutionary struggle sometimes manifested itself in relations with his wife and children.

But when in 1926 his daughter, who was called Svetlana, was born, Stalin melted. She became the favorite of her father, who was ready to satisfy her every whim.

The situation in the family started to get worse again when Sveta was three years old. Nadezhda told her husband that she would continue to pursue her own career. Joseph was against it, but, as we already know, no one could stop Nadezhda when she really wanted something. She became a student in the Textile Industry Department of the Industrial Academy. & Nbsp;

Jealousy and illness

For most of their life together, jealousy was present in the relationship between Stalin and Alliluyeva. Moreover, it was not from Joseph – on the one hand, Stalin was sure about Nadezhda, and on the other hand, his wife never gave a reason. But she fell prey to suspicion, which sometimes manifested itself in correspondence.

“ Something of & nbsp; you have no news … Probably, the trip to & nbsp; quail carried away or just too lazy to write. … I & nbsp; heard about you from & nbsp; an interesting young woman that you & nbsp; look great & raquo ;, & mdash; & nbsp; Nadezhda wrote to her husband while he was on vacation in Sochi. Stalin, as best he could, tried to dispel all doubts, but he was not very successful.

In fact, he didn't have any novels next to it. At least today, there is no even indirect evidence of anything like it. But Nadezhda continued to be jealous.

It is possible that the reason for this was not only temperament, but also the first manifestations of the disease that tormented the woman in all the last years of her life. Stalin's adopted son Artem in & nbsp; interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta said: “ I was 11 & nbsp; years old when she & nbsp; not & nbsp; became. & Nbsp; she had crazy headaches. November 7 & nbsp; she took us with & nbsp; Vasily au & nbsp; parade. About twenty minutes later, & nbsp; & mdash; did not survive. Apparently, she suffered an improper fusion of the bones of the cranial vault, and & nbsp; in & nbsp; such cases, suicide is not & nbsp; rare. & Nbsp;

Nadezhda's nephew Vladimir Alliluyev said the same thing: & nbsp; Mom ( Anna Sergeevna ) felt like his headaches gave him & nbsp; The point is & nbsp; what. When Alliluyeva was only 24 & nbsp; years, she wrote in & nbsp; letters to & nbsp; my mother: & nbsp; i have a hell of a headache, but & nbsp; I & nbsp; i hope it will go away & ldquo ;. In fact, the pain hasn't gone away. What did she not do, as soon as she was not treated. Stalin sent his wife for treatment in & nbsp; in Germany with & nbsp; best teachers. Useless. & Nbsp; I even have a memory of & nbsp; childhood: if the door to the bedroom of & nbsp; Nadejda Sergeevna is closed, this means that & nbsp; his head hurts & nbsp; and & nbsp; she is resting. So, & nbsp; we only have one version: she could no longer cope with & nbsp; excruciating and savage pain. & # 39; & # 39;

“ Alliluyeva was, in my opinion, a little psychopath at & nbsp; this time & # 39; & # 39;

But what about the political conflict? This is not confirmed by documents at all. Moreover, it is clear from the correspondence of the spouses in recent years that they discussed political matters with each other calmly, without any tension.

“ I will send the book & nbsp; Dmitrievsky & nbsp; & bdquo; About & nbsp; Stalin and & nbsp; Lenin & ldquo; & nbsp; (this defector) … I read in the & nbsp; white press about & nbsp; where they write this is the most interesting material on & nbsp; you. Curious? Therefore, I & nbsp; asked to get & nbsp; sa & raquo ;, & mdash; & nbsp; writes Nadezhda Stalin. Clearly this isn't the most complimentary material, to put it mildly. But the husband responds calmly enough, without the slightest irritation, and it becomes clear that they need to get acquainted with the “enemy” in their family. literature and it was customary to discuss it. It is nothing like the relationship of people between whom an insurmountable conflict has emerged.

On November 7, 1932, a party was celebrated in the apartment Voroshilovs & nbsp; . This is where the last quarrel between Stalin and Alliluyeva took place. This scene has been described several times, and, as a rule, the perpetrators simply speculated about the circumstances.

There was no trace of the tyrant. The most credible is the story of Vyacheslav Molotov who was directly present at the celebration: & nbsp; We had a large company after November 7, 1932 in Voroshilov's apartment. Stalin rolled a piece of bread and & nbsp; in front of all eyes and threw that ball at & nbsp; Yegorov's wife. I & nbsp; saw it, but & nbsp; have not be careful. Like & nbsp; would have played a role. Alliluyeva was, in my opinion, a little psychopath at & nbsp; this time. On & nbsp; she, it all acted in such a way that she could & nbsp; could really & nbsp; to keep between & nbsp; hands. From tonight, she left with & nbsp; my wife, & nbsp; Polina Semionovna . They toured the & nbsp; Kremlin. It was late at night, and & nbsp; she complained to my wife that she & nbsp; she & nbsp; didn't like it, didn't like it. About this hairdresser … why did he flirt like that at night … and & nbsp; it was just like that, he was drinking a little bit, a joke. Nothing fancy, but & nbsp; had an effect on her. She was very jealous of him. Gypsy blood. & # 39; & # 39;

It is, in fact, that there was another daily conflict on the basis of jealousy. Which, of course, was made worse by the headaches that tormented Nadezhda.

Stalin did not understand how bad everything was. As mentioned above, during conflicts he often preferred to remain silent. And this time I didn't understand that my wife had turned into a tight thread that could burst at any time. & Nbsp;

'Toy gun'

On the night of November 9, 1932, a gunshot rang out in Stalin & # 39; s apartment. Next to Nadezhda's body they found a pistol Walter, which her brother, Pavel Alliluyev , a Soviet military leader, one of the founders of the Main Armor Directorate of the ; Red Army, gave it.

-for toy, he shot once a year & # 39; & # 39 ;, & mdash; & nbsp; Stalin said after the tragedy.

All the stories that the husband could pull Nadezhda & mdash; & nbsp; It's not even a conspiracy theory, but just fairy tales for an audience ready to consume anything. Even Stalin's enemies said that for him the death of his beloved wife was a great shock.

He wasn't used to showing his feelings, but three years later in one of his conversations he broke out: 'What are children , they are she was & nbsp; forgotten in a few days, and & nbsp; she paralyzed me for & nbsp; all my life.

& nbsp;

Until his death, Stalin would sometimes interrupt planned activities and give a brief order: “ Let's go to Novodevichy! & # 39; & # 39; He went to his wife's grave and was silent for a long time. What he was thinking then, what he remembered, no one will know by now. & Nbsp;
