The corresponding decision was taken by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It is clarified that the RTOs will be responsible for the defense of the main base of the Pacific Fleet in the capital of the Primorsky Territory, as well as Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.
The supply of Karakurt. will depend on the timing of the state defense order. It is worth noting that the RTOs will be built according to the updated project, in particular, the Pantsir-M air defense missile system will be included in their weaponry.
Project 22800 RTOs are considered to be the most massive vessels currently supplied to the fleet. Each of them carries a 'Caliber-NK' universal complex. or “P-800”
