ISS will close internal hatches due to space debris

Internal hatches will be closed on the International Space Station due to the threat of space debris, according to the United States Space Flight Operations Center.

The hatches between the & nbsp; the main modules will be closed on Tuesday, November 16. It is expected that the astronauts will open them after the completion of the satellite debris tracking work.

On the eve of the & nbsp; International Space Station & nbsp; a satellite debris approached. In a single day, space debris passed the ISS several times. The station suffered no damage.

According to RIA Novosti, cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Piotr Dubrovnik, as well as American astronaut Mark Vande Hai, were on board the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft docked at the station, and astronauts Raja Chari, Thomas Marshburn, Kayla Barron and European Space Agency German cosmonaut Matthias Maurer are aboard Crew Drago.

There is little time left for the escape maneuver.

As a reminder, on November 10, the International Space Station escaped a wreckage of the Chinese satellite Fengyun-1C. For this, its orbit has been adjusted.
