Area of ​​forest fires in Mordovia increased to 3,000 hectares

The area of ​​the fire in the reserve in Mordovia has increased to three thousand hectares. This was reported by the Unified Division of Labor (UDDS) of the Temnikovsky district of the republic.

Before that it was reported that the area covered by the fire was 1.1 thousand hectares. It is found that due to dead wood and adverse weather conditions, extinguishing the fire is complicated. In addition, the terrain is difficult to access there.

The aircraft dropped water 114 times with a total volume of over 1,300 tonnes. Over 700 people and over 180 pieces of equipment are working at the fire site.

Dry grass in the territory of the Smidovich reserve caught fire on August 3. Due to the fire, an emergency diet was introduced in the Temnikovsky region of Mordovia. In addition, an emergency regime was introduced in Sarov after a fire originating from a reserve in Mordovia reached the Nizhny Novgorod region.
