The deputy head of the Southern Customs Directorate of Russia's FCS, Alexander Skripkin, accused of embezzling 85 million rubles, has been arrested, reports TASS.
The Moscow City Court has clarified that the Dorogomilovsky District Court in the capital has detained Skripkin until September 15.
He was accused of embezzling 85 million rubles in connection with the execution of a state contract.
According to the survey, in 2018, officials from the Southern Customs Directorate overestimated the original price of the building purchase contract, which limited competition and gave a benefit to the entrepreneur.
After the conclusion of a contract for a total amount of more than 253 million rubles, the customs service received a building with an area of about 3 thousand meters squares and two lots. As pointed out in the UK, the cost of this property was overestimated by 85 million rubles. According to the agency, the attackers disposed of the stolen funds at their own discretion.
