The Ministry of Justice included eight citizens of the Russian Federation in the list of foreign agents

The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation has entered eight people in the media register performing the functions of foreign agent, reports the official website of the department.

The corresponding list was updated on Thursday July 15th.

Roman Badanin *, Maxim Glikin *, Yulia Yarosh *, Pyotr Manyakhina *, Maria Zheleznova *, Yulia Lukyanova *, Elizaveta Maetnaya * have been added.

Recall that previously the Attorney General's office recognized work in the Russian Federation as an unwanted American non-governmental organization Project Media **, founded by Badanin *.

According to the department, the activities of this organization threaten the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation. This information has been passed on to the Ministry of Justice, which in turn will add the NGO to the appropriate list.

By law, documents from foreign publications-foreign agents must be distributed on the territory of the Russian Federation with appropriate marking. This rule is intended to inform readers that these media are pursuing the interests of other states.

Previously, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova rejected the West's accusations of discrimination against foreign agents in the territory of the Russian Federation. According to her, the relevant law was adopted in response to the actions of the United States in relation to the Russian media.
