What ships did the United States enter the Black Sea?

The United States increased activity in the Black Sea region at the end of October. US Navy ships have been in the Black Sea for several days. The destroyer Porter and the Command and Staff Ship Mount Whitney entered the waters on October 30 and November 4, respectively. Also on November 3, the US tanker John Lenthall arrived in the area. AiF.ru discovered that for & nbsp; ships approached the & nbsp; coasts of the Russian Federation.

Destroyer Porter

This is a destroyer with & nbsp; Arleigh Burke-type guided missile weapons. Porter is equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of 1.6 thousand km and an Aegis (Aegis) missile defense system.

Thanks to the combat capabilities of the Aegis system, destroyers are able to conduct a transient three-dimensional battle (with simultaneous provision of anti-air, anti-ship and anti-submarine defense) in & nbsp; conditions of a high degree of threat from the enemy's side. Additionally, the system is capable of receiving and processing information from sensors of other vessels/planes in the connection and issuing target designations to their launchers. Thus, the system can support the complex air defense commander, although & nbsp; cannot fully automate all air defense functions.

The USS Porter, along with destroyers Donald Cook, Roosevelt and & nbsp; Ross, is affected in a & nbsp; permanent in & nbsp; Europe to & nbsp; Spanish military base of & nbsp; Rota. With & nbsp; Aegis missile defense land bases in & nbsp; Poland and & nbsp; Romania, they are part of the program to build a phased adaptive European missile defense system.

Command ship Mount Whitney

It is considered to be one of the most advanced ACCS ships of the C4I type (English command, control, communications, computers and intelligence & nbsp; & mdash; command, control, communications, computers and information). The JTIDS system, included in the & nbsp; composition of the ship's radio-electronic means, can transmit and & nbsp; receive large amounts of protected data to & nbsp; any point on Earth via various communication channels, & nbsp; including satellite. This technology allows the fleet command to quickly receive reconnaissance information and & nbsp; tactics, and & nbsp; also to control its forces.

It has artillery and & nbsp; rocket launchers, and & nbsp; even machine guns. The & nbsp; ship has landing craft and & nbsp; boats, a helicopter landing strip.

This ship is not the first time it has visited the Black Sea. & Nbsp; October 10 & nbsp; October 10, 2016, he crossed the Bosphorus and & nbsp; entered the Black Sea water area. & Nbsp; 4 & nbsp; February 4, 2014 arrived at the Black Sea standard & nbsp; security planning during the Olympic Games in & nbsp; Sochi.

John Lenthall Oil Tanker

He is truly a veteran who served and & nbsp; came back again in the & nbsp; system. John Lenthall & nbsp; & mdash; third ship of the Henry J. Kaiser class. It & nbsp; was laid at & nbsp; Avondale Shipyard, Inc. & nbsp; to & nbsp; New Orleans, Louisiana, July 15, 1985 and & nbsp; launched & nbsp; 9 & nbsp; August 1986 & nbsp; year . He served in the US Atlantic Fleet under MSC control until he was withdrawn from active service on November 11, 1996 and placed in reserve. Was reinstated on 7 & nbsp; December 1998 and & nbsp; is in & nbsp; active service in the & nbsp; Atlantic fleet.

The tanker was endangered on & nbsp; 17 & nbsp; April 17 & nbsp; a merchant ship lost direction and & nbsp; collided with & nbsp; another ship before colliding with John Lenthall while in & nbsp; pier undergoing maintenance. No one on board the John Lenthall was & nbsp; injured, and & nbsp; it suffered only limited damage to the external structures and & nbsp; to equipment. & Nbsp; 23 & nbsp; September 23 & nbsp; pirates passed by the tanker, but it was done with warning shots.

Is it legal & nbsp; USA in the & nbsp; Black Sea ?

US Navy ships can enter the Black Sea, this is permitted by the Montreux Doctrine. The document regulates in detail the passage of warships through the Bosporus and the & nbsp; Dardanelles, placing ships of the Black Sea States in & nbsp; compared to & nbsp; others. The Black Sea Powers have the right to conduct any of their warships across the Strait in peacetime. For warships of powers not belonging to the Black Sea, the Convention sets restrictions on the class, allowing passage through the straits of small surface ships, small combat ships and & nbsp; nbsp; auxiliaries.

The maximum total tonnage of all vessels of foreign naval detachments that may be in transit through the straits, must not exceed 15,000 & nbsp; tons. The total tonnage of military vessels of non-Black Sea states in the & nbsp; Black Sea cannot & nbsp; exceed 30 & nbsp; 000 tons (with the possibility of increasing this maximum to 45,000 tons in the case of an increase in the number of Black Sea Navy countries ) with & nbsp; do not stay & nbsp; more than twenty days.

It is too early to make a point. Affected colleagues defended the thallium poisoner

Victims of thallium poisoning four years ago at the aircraft factory. G.M. Beriev in Taganrog is not satisfied with the court's decision, that the culprit Vladislav Shulga was sentenced to eight years in general prison.

Personal hostility

The incident took place in 2017 in the science and technology complex of Taganrog Aviation. G.M. Beriev (TANTK), where the Be-200 amphibious aircraft are produced. Thallium poisoned 34 people to varying degrees.

The investigation lasted four years, and ultimately the court found Vladislav Shulga, a resident of Taganrog, guilty of mass poisoning his colleagues.

Shulga served eight years in a general regime colony. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom, before he was released on an undertaking not to leave. & Nbsp;

The prosecution believes that, while working for TANTK, in 2017, “ on personal hostility towards several employees of the company '' adding thallium to 19 liter drinking water bottles. As a result, there was massive poisoning of the company's employees.

Shulga to the investigative experience. Screenshot

'At the initial stage of the investigation, Shulga confessed to the investigation. In the future, he changed the testimony given previously, declaring his innocence in the crimes & # 39 ;, & mdash; reported by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Rostov region.

The Investigation Committee noted that during the investigation numerous petitions and complaints were investigated, “including allegedly illegal methods of conducting the investigation. 'Investigation', expert reviews and other investigative measures were carried out, which the court considered evidence of guilt.

“ According to the results of the chemical examinations, a chemical substance containing thallium was found in a bottle taken from the factory premises, and on a chemical scale taken from Shulga's home , & # 39; & # 39; & hyphen ; according to the press service of the department.

The court found Shulga guilty on the point 'it & # 39; & # 39; s h. 2 tbsp. 111 of the Criminal Code (intentionally inflicts grievous bodily harm), paragraph a; h. 2 tbsp. 112 of the Penal Code (intentionally inflicts moderate harm to health) and 1 Art. 115 of the Penal Code (intentionally inflicts minor damage to health).

There is not enough evidence

The victims are unhappy with the verdict. They defend the condemned. & Nbsp;

“We were in favor of an acquittal because, in our opinion, guilt has not been proven, & mdash; '' told AiF.ru the 39; victims' lawyer Valery Skorobogatov … & mdash; It is still unclear what caused the poisoning of 34 factory workers. The matter has not been fully investigated. Most likely, the part of Shulga will appeal. & # 39; & # 39;

The lawyer finds the court's evidence unconvincing.

“ According to the prosecutor's version, Shulga prepared three doses of the poison and poured them into three 19-liter bottles. As a result, he poisoned 34 people & mdash; those who drank water & mdash; explains Valery Skorobogatov. & mdash; Victims & mdash; they are employees of three departments, and they all sit in five offices. Each office has their own bottled water bottle that they drink from. That is, poison everyone & mdash; you don't need three, but five bottles. The question arises: how did people poison themselves. This point is not clear. & # 39; & # 39; & Nbsp;

According to the defender, the version of the poisoning is not confirmed, and it is not known how it could have happened.

One of the victims Inna Aleinikova agreed to speak to the correspondent of AiF.ru. Four years ago, internet users were shocked by a video in which a young and beautiful girl showed how her hair fell out.

“I quit my job, I continue to rebuild my health, it's a never-ending process, & mdash; said Inna Aleinikova. & mdash; Twice a year I definitely go to the hospital for checkup and procedures. & # 39; & # 39; & Nbsp;

In his opinion, the court did not take into account a lot of things, for example, it refused the victims & # 39; petitions.

Testimony under pressure

Three years ago, Shulga said he wrote an appeal on his case to the Human Rights Ombudsman ; man Tatiana Moskalkova . RBC reports that it complained about the actions of employees of the Interior Ministry of Taganrog and employees of the Investigations Directorate of the Rostov region Investigative Committee. Shulga claimed that at the end of March its “ no explanation '' was detained by police officers, after which the court sentenced him to seven days' arrest for petty hooliganism.

The man said an officer showed up at the temporary detention center, who threatened him and “ asked to take the blame & # 39; & # 39 ;; in case of poisoning at the Aircraft Company im. Berev. A factory worker also wrote in his appeal to Moskalkova that he confessed 'after psychological abuse' and threats to sue his mother.
