Rostec created a USB stick with data destruction function

Employees of the state-owned company Technodinamika Rostec has developed a flash drive with the function of permanently destroying information by pressing the button & nbsp; at the end of the device. This was reported by the Rostec press service.

The message indicates that the USB flash drive housing contains a memory chip, batteries, and controls. It is seen that after pressing the button, the electric detonator is activated. It burns the circuit board with a cumulative jet, which guarantees the irreversible destruction of the information stored on the device. According to the general manager of the holding company Igor Nasenkov, the impossibility of data recovery was confirmed by an expert report.

The press service stressed that the use of this function does not present any danger to the user, because when activated, the integrity of the body device is not violated.

According to Nasenkov, in the future, the safety of the device will be tested during its long-term storage, for its mechanical resistance and climatic factors. Also, specialists intend to work out different design options for the flash drive case.

The post added that the development of the device was carried out by employees of JSC NPP Krasnoznamenets. At Rostec it is believed that government departments, as well as companies working with confidential data, can become potential consumers of novelty.
