Smog in New York City due to forest fires

New York is engulfed in smoke from the fires in the western United States. We are talking about the elements raging in the forests of the three western states & mdash; Oregon, Washington and California.

New Yorkers are complaining about the burning smell, and forecasters warn & mdash; the content of harmful substances in the air has been exceeded. City officials recommend that city residents with asthma or heart problems not leave their homes at least during the day.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that fires in the western United States were the cause of the smoke. There are now 13, the largest & mdash; in Oregon. The first fires were recorded there on July 6, its area is more than 1.5 thousand square kilometers. No casualty or fatality data has yet been reported.
