In France, the prosecution demanded to send Sarkozy to prison for six months

In France, the prosecution demanded that the country's ex-president Nicolas Sarkozy be sentenced to six months in prison. They also want to cash him a fine of 3,750 euros. This was reported by the BFMTV television channel.

Sakrozi himself has pleaded not guilty in the hearings, he denies the fact of overspending during the 2012 election campaign.

Court hearings in this case started again in March, but hearings were postponed due to the illness of one of the accused's defense attorneys. According to the prosecution, Sarkozy's campaign headquarters in 2012 used fake accounts to hide overspending.

This is not the first trial against Sarkozy in France. So, in March, a Paris court found the politician guilty of bribery and influence peddling and sentenced him to three years in prison, including two & mdash; conditionally.
