Extracting freshwater from deposits under the Azov Sea can become impractical, says Victor Danilov-Danilyan, scientific director of the Institute water problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He told Gazeta.ru, commenting on the extraction of a test batch of freshwater for the needs of the Crimea.

The scientist noted that while the water can be clean and drinkable, but over time it will acquire a salty taste.
