Intrigue Criminal case against the head of the Stavropol State Road Safety Inspectorate
The municipal court of & # 39; Essentuki has arrested four other defendants in the criminal corruption case at the State Road Safety Inspectorate of the Stavropol Territory, TASS reports.
“ Five defendants have been taken into custody, including Safonov. Two – a house arrest, and one more – a ban on certain actions, ”said Vyacheslav Khloponin, representative of the Attorney General's Office of the Russian Federation for the Federal Districts of the North and South Caucasus.
Head of the State Road Safety Inspectorate of the Stavropol Territory Alexey & nbsp; Safonov & nbsp; and six of his subordinates & nbsp; were arrested on the morning of July 20. They are suspected of corruption and embezzlement and accepting bribes worth 19 million rubles.
A criminal case has been opened under the section 'Accepting a bribe on a particularly large scale.' According to the investigation, members of the organized group made illegal passes for grain and inert cargo carriers.
Earlier, the Yessentuki court arrested Alexey Safonov, head of the Stavropol Territory Traffic Police Department, for two months.
