Forest fires in Karelia

The total area of ​​forest fires in Karelia reached 6839 hectares. Currently, there are 38 active forest fires in the region on the territory of Olonetsky, Prionezhsky, Muezersky, Pudozhsky, Belomorsky, Kalevala, Kondopozhsky, Pryazhinsky, Segezhsky, Suoyarvsky districts (12 fires were located in an area of 61 hectares).

Fighters, around 700 people, including volunteers, lead the fire. Parachute firefighters from the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions arrived to help the republic. Used 150 pieces of equipment. In addition, 100 more people from the Russian Defense Ministry will be attracted to help the firefighters.

There is a high alert regime in the territory of the republic, an emergency regime was introduced in the Suoyarvsky and Segezhsky districts, as well as in the rural Essoilsky settlement of the Pryazhinsky district . A total of 600 people were evacuated.
