In February, a number of new laws will come into force in Russia

In Russia, a number of draft laws concerning the indexation of pensions, social benefits and maternity capital will enter into force in February, information on the vaccination medical exemption will appear in anti-virus certificates, and debtors will be entitled to a protected minimum. Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes about this.

From February 1, payments for people with disabilities, veterans, Chernobyl victims, Heroes of Russia, as well as citizens injured at work will increase by 8.4%. The indexation will also affect pregnancy and birth allowances, childcare for up to a year and a half for the unemployed, a lump sum allowance for the birth of a child and 39;other social benefits. 

From February 1, the maternity capital will increase from 483.9 thousand rubles to 524.5 thousand rubles, and for the second child and following – up to 693.1 thousand rubles.

Pensions for non-working pensioners will also be indexed by 8.6%. This will affect payments received in January and beyond. 

Another law coming into force guarantees debtors a fireproof balance from salary or pension up to a living wage. This right will apply to almost all debtors, but, for example, alimony will not be able to use it.

Anti-Covid certificates will contain information on medical contraindications to vaccination against COVID-19. If a citizen has this certificate, a special anti-COVID QR code, when read, will indicate the reasons for medical withdrawal and for what period it is fixed. Also, the certificate will contain information about the disease.

From February 1, the fare on public roads for trucks weighing more than 12 tons will increase to 2.54 rubles per kilometer. Large companies that do not have automatic emission control systems will be fined up to 200,000 rubles. Also, starting in February, excerpts from the Unified State Registry of Real Estate will appear to see if the home is classified as an emergency. 

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law toughening fines for the production, turnover and circulation of unlabeled tobacco and alcohol products throughout the country. .
