Russians permanently residing in the territory of the self-proclaimed People's Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk may, if they wish, be called up for military service in the ;Russian army. Vodolatsky stressed that the issue of ensuring the safety of the Russian-speaking population is one of the priorities when meeting with people of the LPR and the DPR.
