Asian locust invasion in the Krasnodar Territory

Locusts attacked the Novopokrovsky farm in the Primorsko-Akhtarsky district of the Krasnodar Territory.

Insects destroy alfalfa, beets and corn. According to local residents, an invasion of such magnitude is taking place for the first time. The press service of the administration of the Primorsko-Akhtarsky region reported that 3,200 hectares of fields were cultivated. This partially contained the invasion. In total, 36 outbreaks of the Moroccan locust and 32 & mdash; Asian migratory locust.

The locust gnaws at the leaves of plants, gnaws at the base of the stems, gnaws at the ears of cereals and gnaws at unripe grains, and in trees and vines gnaws at them.
